body weight.
A diabetes diet does not need special foods, instead the primary emphasis
should be on vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
Does not mean eliminating sugars. However, it is best to save them
for special occasions. Moderation is the key

  • Clear the kitchen of sweets
  • Split the dessert with a companion
  • Reduce or eliminate sugar called for in recipes

Carbohydrates break down into glucose; they have the greatest impact on your blood glucose level

  • Eliminate the white food (white rice, refined flours and white bread), replace them with brown food (brown rice, steel-cut oats or whole-grain bread.
  • Make vegetables a major part of the diet
  • Reduce soda levels and juice intake
  • Calls for regular eating habits
  • Don’t skip breakfast or any other meal
  • Eat small meals at regular intervals
  • Keep the calorie intake at constant values
